Airbnb: The Retro Coastal Getaway

The owner of this beachside property wanted to transform it into a fun, family-friendly Airbnb with a retro coastal vibe. The goal was to create a memorable and welcoming space that would stand out to potential renters.

Our Process

After touring the property and assessing the existing pieces, I focused on a strategic blend of new and sourced items. I created a detailed shopping list from Amazon and IKEA for the more cost-effective, foundational furniture.

I then turned our attention to local sourcing to find unique, smaller items that would add character. A large wooden table was chosen to comfortably seat big families. In the black and white kitchen, I infused life with pops of color—from vibrant wall decor to playful coffee cups and glassware. I also added warmth and texture with woven baskets and wooden cutting boards.

The murals painted throughout the living space and bedrooms were a key feature, so I selected bold blankets, pillows, and curtains to complement the artwork and complete the playful, cohesive look.
